The reason some people prefer the elliptical is because it exerts less effort from your knees, which for some people is necessary to prevent injury. I am not a big fan, though. I prefer the treadmill.

This is precisely why I can’t go to the gym. Aside from extreme self-consciousness about my scrawniness, I find it really hard not to compare myself to other dudes working out, and really there is no comparison at all. That’s why I work out at home.
