Good Intentions

My co-worker Chaka cornered me in the staff kitchen to ask me about another co-worker Zulu.

Chaka does not like Zulu. At all.

Zulu is intelligent, hardworking, and has saved my butt on many occasions. I interact with Zulu everyday, she’s one of the nicest people with whom I’ve had the honor to work.

Chaka spoke with Zulu once and formed an opinion about her.

You know, I’m not a happy-go-lucky person prior to coffee. So I can understand someone meeting me for the first time, and before my coffee thinking I’m a stuck up asshole. Maybe the day Chaka spoke to Zulu, Zulu was having a bad day?

I assured Chaka (who is also very nice) that Zulu is far from what she thought.

After that conversation, I headed excitedly to Zulu’s cubicle to let her know what Chaka said about her and that I stood up for her. Go me! I stick up for my friends!

Then I remembered.

That is the one thing done over and over in all the Reality Shows I watch that causes major drama. There’s no way to translate that conversation that would sound right to Zulu- so I made a u-turn back to my own cubicle.

The moral of the story? Reality TV is educational.

outfit: Another $14.99 dress from our favorite store Ross. I used to be a huge advocate of Kohls but on good authority (of my bank account) I can tell you I was wrong. You get the same style of clothes for less money at Ross. True Story.

I should mention that you are better off shopping at a Ross store in a suburban location than one in a big city. There’s a huge difference in selections and over all store experience.

I’ve officially dumped Kohls- Ross is my new lover.
